Recipe: Matcha Energy Bites
Tea is an ancient drink that is known to have health-promoting properties. It has antioxidants which can help to reduce risks of many chronic diseases.
It is also often consumed with milk and sugar. Did you know that these common additions to a cup of fresh hot tea can counteract some of the healthful properties of the ancient drink?
In my latest post, I talk about the health benefits of both green and black tea.
Speaking of tea, have you eaten matcha green tea before? Yes, “eaten.”
Whether you have or not, you’re going to love my recipe for one of the tastiest (and easy to make) snacks ever.
Recipe (Green tea): Matcha Energy Bites
Serves 6 (makes 12-18 bites)
- 1 cup shredded coconut, unsweetened
- 4 tbsp almond flour
- 1 tbsp matcha green tea
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
Add all ingredients into food processor and pulse until blended.
Shape into 1-1.5″ balls.
Serve & enjoy!
Tip: If you use sweetened coconut, then you can eliminate the honey/maple syrup.
